Blue and yellow midfielder Dmytro Kryskiv shared his thoughts on the start of the training process.
"I have only positive emotions. I met with the guys I've known for a long time and haven't seen for a long time. It was the first training session, the pitch is in good condition, the weather is great, everything is great. A lot of my friends from the youth team are here, which is great. We talked to them about the game moments, about the coach's requirements.
I've been waiting for a call-up to the national team for a long time. I wanted to come to it, show what I can do and help the team. When I saw myself on the list, of course, I was very happy, and my wife was even more excited. My parents and sister were very supportive.
I will go to every training session and give my best, do what the coaching staff requires of me. I want to understand the coaches' instructions as soon as possible. I think that if we unite well as a team and fulfill the requirements of the coach, we will get a positive result.
As for the opponents, I watched the last match of the national team with the Czech Republic. The Czechs are a fighting, athletic team that puts a lot of pressure on the opponent's goal. There are a lot of crosses into the penalty area. Powerful, aggressive football. We have not yet analyzed the Georgians, but I saw them at Euro 2024. A technical team, the players work well with the ball. I am sure that we will be shown a video, given a lot of theory, and we will analyze the Georgian national team in more detail and quality.
I have Georgian teammates. Irakli Azarov was not called up, but Giorgi Gocholeishvili will be there. I will be glad to talk to him, because he is no longer at Shakhtar (on loan in Copenhagen - Ed.). They said that it would be difficult for us and that we should be prepared. It will be an interesting game," Dmytro Kryskiv said.
It will be recalled that in October, Serhii Rebrov's team will play two home matches in Group B1 of the 2024/2025 Nations League in Poland. On October 11, in the 3rd round, the blue-and-yellows will host Georgia in Poznan at the ENEA Stadium, and on October 14, in the 4th round, they will play against the Czech Republic in Wroclaw at the Tarczynski Arena Wroclaw Stadium.
