The head of the All-Ukrainian professional union Football of Ukraine, Ihor Hataullin, answered questions fromUFregarding Mariupol's refusal to play against USCA.
Igor Gataullin- Igor Fedorovich, have any Mariupol players approached your trade union with a request to help with the issue of paying their wage arrears?
- As of today, none of the Mariupol players has applied to our organization. The fact is that I am currently in Wroclaw as part of an official delegation and we are currently discussing this situation among our colleagues. In particular, the vice president of the Donetsk Regional Football Association, Oleksandr Kosevych, is here.
What do we know? That when they arrived at the match today, the president of the PFL, Oleksandr Kadenko, also arrived there. And for some reason, they presented all their complaints to him. But when Kosevych called some of the players and asked: "Why don't you appeal to the regional football association, you are our members?" They said: "We didn't find it possible, Kadenko was nearby and we passed on all our demands to him."
- Did you get any signals from them that they were having financial problems?
- The fact is that some of my friends said that there was a possibility that their main sponsor, the Kyrexx crypto exchange, would stop funding the team because there were problems with the activities and functioning of this structure.
If you are following the situation closely, you probably saw that yesterday they withdrew as an official sponsor.
- What is the situation in general with domestic clubs?
- Some clubs are paid with a delay of 2-3 weeks. I know that Metalist 1925 has such a situation, but they pay normally. A couple of weeks pass and they pay for the previous month of activity.
Today, I would not rush to make any drastic conclusions, because we do not know if there was a collective appeal to the club's management. Because according to the contract, this is the first step that players have to take. We don't know if it happened.
