"We will extend Robert Lewandowski's contract as soon as he reaches 50% of this season's matches. This is the clause in his contract," Fabrizio Romano quoted Laporte as saying on Twitter.
It will be recalled that the 36-year-old Pole's agreement with the Blaugranas runs until 2026 with an option to extend for another year.
