— Oleksandr always distinguished himself from a young age with his responsibility, discipline, and deep understanding of the game. Even then, his professional approach was evident, manifesting in how he communicated with players and coaches. You could already notice in his behavior and reactions a tendency towards coaching.
In the team, Shovkovsky always treated his partners with respect, being an authoritative figure in the squad. He was bold enough to advise, suggest, and support when necessary. At the same time, both in training and in matches, he demanded a lot from himself and his partners, especially the younger ones. He was a role model for young players, which is why he had quite a significant career. Many players who were around took example from him, — said Yezersky.
