A meeting was held at the House of Football with the national futsal team of Ukraine, which recently won bronze at the 2024 World Championship in Uzbekistan.
Photo: UAF press serviceThe event gathered a number of distinguished guests, including UAF President Andriy Shevchenko, Minister of Youth and Sports Matviy Bidny, UAF First Vice President Oleksandr Shevchenko, UAF Secretary General Ihor Hryshchenko, as well as President of the Futsal Association of Ukraine Serhiy Vladiko.
UAF President Andriy Shevchenko personally congratulated the futsal players, emphasizing the importance of their achievement for the country, especially in such difficult times. He highlighted the significance of each player's contribution to the common victory and also noted the personal successes of the team leaders.
“I am extremely pleased to once again congratulate you on this outstanding achievement. As a former player and coach, I understand well the journey you had to go through to reach your goal. You have inscribed your names in the history of Ukrainian futsal, and this is already part of the world sports history. Wherever I travel abroad, everyone acknowledges your achievements, and I am sincerely proud of you. Every victory of yours is a victory for the entire country,” said Andriy Shevchenko.
The UAF President also asked each player to sign a historical photo of the team taken during the award ceremony at the championship. This photo, which will become part of the UAF Hall of Fame, symbolizes an important stage in the history of Ukrainian sport.
Minister of Youth and Sports Matviy Bidny, in his speech, thanked the players for their contribution to Ukraine's victories on the international stage.
“I fully understand how significant your achievement is — starting the journey among 121 countries and reaching such a high result. This is a true success, and I sincerely thank you for this. In this difficult time, during the war, you added another important victory to Ukraine's achievements. We are all proud of you!” said Matviy Bidny.
President of the Futsal Association of Ukraine Serhiy Vladiko presented Andriy Shevchenko and Matviy Bidny with personal bronze medals in recognition of their contribution to the development of futsal and support for the team.
