The head coach of Kryvyi Rih’s Kryvbas, Yurii Vernydub, commented on his team’s loss to Zhytomyr’s Polissia (1:2) in the 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian Cup.
Yurii Vernydub“I want to congratulate Polissia on their victory. However, in my opinion, Kryvbas also deserved to win. But that’s football. Sometimes we weren’t lucky, while the opponent was. As I already said in the flash interview, we made Polissia suffer on the field, as we played really well. We had our moments, but sometimes it happens that we lost.
I am grateful to my team for this game. I watched yesterday’s match between Rukh and Karpaty. And I believe our game was even more interesting and intense. There is a derby, Dynamo vs Shakhtar, the Lviv derby. Today we also made a decent derby: Kryvyi Rih vs Zhytomyr.
The opponent we faced was good. In terms of player selection, the squad is decent. But we didn’t back down today. We still have everything ahead of us. I thanked the guys and told them to hold their heads high. Everything is fine, we still have everything ahead,” said Vernydub.
