Defender of Poltava’s Vorskla Viktor Korniyenko commented on the team defeat against Kyiv’s Dynamo in the 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian Cup.
“I think we lacked one thing in today’s match — luck. I believe that at times we outplayed Dynamo and created a lot of goal-scoring opportunities where we should have scored one or two goals. But again, we were missing something. To reiterate, I think we lacked luck.
Complaints about the refereeing? After every game. There’s no VAR, and they have such uncertain decisions. I believe that today two moments could have been reviewed if VAR was available. In the first half, the moments were 50/50, but all in our favor. I don’t want to comment on the refereeing anymore...
Dynamo has two equal squads and they can field players in any position. Unfortunately, we have many injured players and lack people who can come on and enhance the game. But even with the substitutions we had today, we could have scored. It’s very disappointing to lose such matches when we could have been the winners,” Korniyenko said in a comment to FootballHub.
