Former FIFA referee and now an authoritative expert Myroslav Stupar assessed the actions of the referee in the central match of the 12th round of the Ukrainian championship between “Oleksandriya” and “Polissya”, as well as commented on the controversial moments in the game “Karpaty” — “Lviv Shore”.
“I think that there were no complaints about Oleksandr Shandor from the participants of the match. He managed his duties well, although the match was not difficult to officiate. Unfortunately, probably due to excessive nervousness, both teams did not demonstrate a game that would correspond to the status of the UPL leaders.
Currently, among the matches that have already been completed in the current round, there is only one remark regarding referee Anastasia Romaniuk in the match “Karpaty” — “Lviv Shore”, who made a mistake by awarding a penalty against the Kyiv team. In that game episode, the ball ricocheted off the defender’s thigh into his half-bent arm. This is not a violation of the rules. It is strange that VAR referee Oleksandr Omelchenko did not ask Romaniuk to review the video of this moment, and then she would have canceled her decision. This did not happen: the Lviv team converted the penalty and brought the score to a comfortable — 2:0.
How can one not recall that in the 9th round, Anastasia made a decisive mistake in the match “Veres” — “Zorya”, disallowing a clean goal from the Luhansk team. By the way, back then in Rivne, the VAR referee was already mentioned Omelchenko, who forgot to come to help. Romaniuk was sidelined because she did not officiate matches of the 10th and 11th rounds. And now, returning, she has made another mistake”.
