On Thursday, November 7, in the match of the 4th round of the main stage of the Europa League, Kyiv’s «Dynamo» lost to Hungarian «Ferencváros» with a score of 0:4. The match was nominally a home game for the Ukrainian team, but due to the war, it took place in Hamburg at the «Volksparkstadion». Here is the post-match press conference of the head coach of «Ferencváros», Pascal Jansen.

At halftime, we made certain adjustments to our game, decided how we wanted to use our numerical advantage, and how we should press in these conditions. If you press correctly, then you
are more stable with the ball, you work with it more comfortably, and this will ultimately tire the opponent and force them to make mistakes or open up. That’s exactly what happened, and that’s what we were striving for.
Scoring four goals in 20 minutes is impressive. And it doesn’t matter that it was done with a numerical advantage: a team with one player less plays very defensively, and it’s not that easy to convert a numerical advantage. Moreover, a team like Kyiv’s «Dynamo» will look for its moments against the opponent in any circumstances.
Scoring four goals away, keeping our goal intact, and doing it in a match against Kyiv’s «Dynamo» is a great compliment to our entire team.
— Did you expect more from «Dynamo»?
— Good question. I expected a very strong opponent, and we got one. «Dynamo» was very unfortunate to receive a red card so early. Therefore, they had to change their plans. But even under these conditions, we found it difficult to play in the first half. «Dynamo» had two or three good moments, even when they were in the minority. So we needed the break to reorganize and return to the game in a new capacity. We demonstrated that capacity, dominated in the second half, and scored four goals.
But, I repeat, «Dynamo» gave us difficulties. We expected that. So in any case, despite this score, «Dynamo» remains a good team.
