The former forward of Kyiv “Dynamo” Viktor Leonenko shared his thoughts on Georgiy Sudakov’s words after the match of the fourth round of the Champions League against “Young Boys” (2:1).
After the match, Sudakov said the following: “MVP award for the match? Yes, of course, it’s touching and pleasant. And probably, it’s very important for me right now because I have recently faced some criticism from our experts, so these achievements give me confidence for the future.”
In addition, Sudakov made a post on his X-account, adding his photos after celebrating the goal and with the MVP award: “How a man responds to pressure.”
Viktor Leonenko said everything he thinks about Sudakov's words:
“Probably, Sudakov will never become a footballer if he says such things after 'Young Boys'. You need to have a lot of brains to say that. If he makes such statements after 'Young Boys', maybe the guy is very serious. Why prove anything to anyone? You should entertain the fans if you are a serious footballer.
There is one piece of advice — work and be quiet! Better to be quiet and do your job. After such statements, I would have thought about it if I were in his place. Wow, he even beat 'Young Boys'! Perhaps, the career is on the rise. Even if you beat 'Real' or 'Manchester City', tomorrow you have to go out and prove again, and win.
And after 'Young Boys', you should actually be ashamed to say anything. These words are strange and worthless. Although I’m not surprised. They appointed themselves as stars. Let’s see what will happen next. If Sudakov meant me by 'experts' and I start to really follow him, then he better not play poorly.
I think after Mudryk, there won’t be anymore sales like that for Shakhtar. Mudryk has shattered the transfer market of Ukraine. I won’t even talk about his game. It will be very difficult for our footballers to go anywhere after him, and if it's possible, then almost for free. Sudakov is unlikely to move for big money anywhere, unless for pennies. Let's see now what he plays with the national team and whether he even makes it to the squad,” said Leonenko.
