The head coach of Lviv’s «Karpaty» Vladislav Lypashko commented on his team’s defeat to «Alexandria» (0:3) in yesterday’s match of the 13th round of the Ukrainian championship.
“The result does not reflect what happened on the pitch. It’s always difficult when you contain an opponent. Not in the sense that you are sitting in your penalty area, but pressing high. Against a team that likes to be pressed, they have built mechanisms through which they come out. When you remove that and create problems for them by winning the ball high… Then you concede a goal from a free kick, a good execution. However, when you concede three goals, and this includes two penalties and a free kick, it’s hard to accept.
Eventually, we opened up, there were moments for «Alexandria». They attacked with great force, but overall the score does not reflect what happened on the pitch.
“Alexandria” is a well-organized team, both with the ball and without it. It was very interesting for us to play against them in our style. If we look to the future, this game gave us a lot of information: for the coaches, for the players, and for the management. I am confident about this,” said Lypashko at the post-match press conference.
