The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Shoof, commented on the attack on Israeli fans in Amsterdam. He assured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that those responsible would be held accountable.
On Thursday, November 7, in the 4th round of the Europa League, Ajax faced Maccabi. After the match, Israeli fans were attacked by Arabs.
“Absolutely unacceptable anti-Semitic attacks on Israelis. I am in close contact with all parties involved. I just spoke with Netanyahu and emphasized that those responsible will be found and held accountable. The capital is calm at the moment,” wrote Dick Shoof.
Recall that after the match in Amsterdam, pro-Palestinian activists attacked Israelis. They targeted lone men and asked where they were from, or simply assaulted them. At least 10 people were beaten, and one was thrown into a canal. The clashes were widespread and occurred in almost all areas of the Dutch capital. In some cases, the attackers used cold weapons.
Tens of Israelis are injured, and some are unaccounted for.
