The match started with an equal fight. Moreover, "Polesie" played effectively in interceptions due to high pressing, forcing "Dynamo" to play without the ball. And in the 14th minute of the match, it was the guests who got their first significant goal-scoring opportunity after another interception in midfield — Nazarenko fired from about 18 meters, the ball was heading for the goal, but Dyachuk managed to block the shot.
But ultimately, the first goal of the match was scored by "Dynamo". In the 22nd minute, Vanat passed to the left flank to Shaparenko, who received a return pass in the Polesie penalty area and struck, from a distance of about 10 meters, sending the ball into the far corner of Volynets' goal — 1:0.
Four minutes later, the main referee awarded a penalty for "Polesie" after using the VAR system (for a handball by Smoliakov after a cross from Tymchyk), which Yarmolenko confidently converted — 2:0.
In the remaining time of the first half, neither team had an advantage. "Dynamo" had a slightly better ball possession percentage, but received no dividends from it. There was no evident threat at either Volynets' goal or Bushing's goal during this segment of the match. So up until the whistle for halftime, the score on the scoreboard remains unchanged. Meanwhile, at the 45th minute, Mykhailichenko received a red card for a rough foul, leaving "Polesie" with ten players.
At the beginning of the second half, "Dynamo" had a chance to build on their success: Shaparenko shot from the edge of the penalty area, Volynets saved this shot, Buialskyy went for the rebound, but in this situation, the Polesie goalkeeper played reliably, though he did manage to catch the ball on the goal line.
Overall, after the break, "Dynamo" maintained a fairly stable advantage, which they did not relinquish until the end of the match. However, there were few threats at Polesie’s goal, apart from the previously mentioned moment, for a long time. The only notable effort was a shot from Guerrero from about 25 meters, which Volynets confidently handled, catching the ball. And as for the guests, they managed to create nothing.
The next genuine goal-scoring chance came in the 76th minute of the match. Dubinchak made a cross from the left flank, in the Polesie penalty area Vialе made an error in interception, the ball landed to Tymchyk, who was completely free and shot from six meters, but somehow managed to shoot much higher than the goal.
It all ended with "Polesie" achieving success at the end of the match. In the 86th minute, after a corner kick, the ball hit Dyachuk, bounced to Hutsuliak, and he easily hit the target from within the six-yard box. But the guests could not achieve anything more — 2:1, victory for Oleksandr Shovkovskyi's team.
After this result, "Dynamo" continues to share the first and second places in the Ukrainian championship standings with "Alexandria", leading the third-placed Donetsk "Shakhtar" by six points.
The Ukrainian championship will now go on a two-week break due to national team matches. In the next, 14th round, "Dynamo" will face a home match against Odesa "Chornomorets". It will take place on Saturday, November 23, in Kyiv at the Dynamo Stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi (kick-off — at 15:30).
