Belgian goalkeeper of “Real” Thibaut Courtois has not changed his decision regarding the national team.
In August, his teammate Andriy Lunin stated that he would no longer play for the “Red Devils” under coach Domenico Tedesco. In June of last year, there were disagreements between the goalkeeper and the coach, as a result of which Courtois unexpectedly left the team on the eve of the qualifying match for Euro 2024 against Estonia.
The Executive Director of the Belgian FA Peter Willems met with Courtois in Madrid to discuss the possibility of his return to the national team. The player remained firm in his decision and confirmed that he would not play for the national team under the current coach, The Athletic reports.
Courtois debuted for the Belgian national team in 2011, after which he played in 102 matches.
