The Football Association of England has officially announced the suspension of Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.
Rodrigo BentancurIn June 2024, the Uruguayan midfielder made an ambiguous joke about his teammate Son Heung-min during an interview. When asked by a journalist about the South Korean player, Bentancur replied: “They all look almost the same, don’t they?”
Bentancur quickly apologized to Son for his thoughtless comment, but the Football Association still took action. After an investigation, the organization announced a seven-match suspension for the player and a fine of £100,000.
