Belgium national team head coach Domenico Tedesco commented on the results of the draw for the Nations League playoff round, where his team will face the Ukrainian national team.
“I am absolutely confident that in March next year, when we play the playoff matches, I will still be the head coach of the Belgian national team. I’ve always said that we intend to use this Nations League for experiments. And still in some matches, we showed that we are ready to compete with top teams.
As for the Ukrainian national team, we know the players, we know how to play against them. Moreover, now I know my strongest team even better—I am a much wiser coach than before the start of the Nations League. Right now, it’s mostly about being able to play our strongest lineup in March to stay in Division A of the Nations League and gain confidence for the World Cup qualification. Because that is our big goal: to be there—at the World Cup in 2026,” Tedesco is quoted by Hln.be.
