This weekend, matches of the 14th round of the Ukrainian Championship for the 2024/25 season are taking place. In one of them, on Saturday, November 23, Kyiv’s "Dynamo" faced Odesa’s "Chornomorets". The match took place in Kyiv at the "Dynamo" stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi.

With the starting whistle, the game predictably took place on the "Chornomorets" half. And already in the 8th minute, "Dynamo" almost opened the score. Brazhko took two consecutive shots, with the second hitting the post. A couple of minutes later, Karavaev missed a super chance — he failed to hit the empty nets of the "sailors" from 20 meters after Rudko was forced to play on the edge of the penalty area, remedying the consequences of his team’s defensive failure.
But in the 16th minute of the match, nothing could save the guests from conceding a goal. Popov played effectively in the selection on the opponent’s half, passed to Buialskyi, who extended the combination with a pass into the "Chornomorets" penalty area to Vанат, and he sent the ball into Rudko’s low corner from about 12 meters with a powerful shot — 1:0.
The goal did not change the game pattern in any way. "Dynamo" continued to attack relentlessly, while "Chornomorets" continuously defended. However, there were no real scoring chances at the Odesa goal for a long time. Only in the 35th minute did the dynamos create the next genuine goal-scoring moment — Buialskyi outplayed his opponent in the "sailors'" penalty area and shot from the corner of the goal area into the far corner — the ball flew near the post. And that was the end of noteworthy events in the first half.
The second half also went under the sign of complete dominance of "Dynamo". And already in the 54th minute, the Kyiv team almost increased the score when Karavaev headed the ball at the near post after a corner kick, and Rudko managed to block the ball's path to his net literally on the goal line. A couple of minutes later, the referee initially awarded a penalty against "Chornomorets" for a handball, but after consulting the VAR system, he canceled his decision.
Closer to the middle of the half, "Chornomorets" managed to push "Dynamo" away from their goal, and the advantage of the Kyiv team became more positional. However, it was during this segment of the match that the hosts successfully developed their advantage — Buialskyi delivered an impressive shot from about 23 meters, and the ball flew into the "nine" of Rudko’s goal — 2:0.
After this, the dynamos decreased their pace a bit, but still managed to score another goal. In the 87th minute, Udod tried to play to Rudko, but he passed the ball straight to Buialskyi, who calmly passed the ball, "cutting" the goalkeeper, and Rubchynskyi without any problems hit the empty net — 3:0.
There could have been a fourth goal for the Kyiv team, but Voloshyn missed the target from the goal line. Meanwhile, "Chornomorets" managed to score a consolation goal in the second minute of stoppage time — Skiba found the net against Bushchan after a free-kick delivery — 3:1.
After this result, "Dynamo" moved to a clear first place in the Ukrainian Championship standings, but "Aleksandria", which is three points behind Kyivans, has yet to play their 14th round match.
In the next, 15th round of the UPL, "Dynamo" is set for an away match against Kovalev's "Koloss". This match will take place on Sunday, December 1, in Kovalivka at the "Koloss" stadium (kickoff — at 15:30).
