The midfielder of “Napoli” and the Georgian national team, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia commented on the events currently happening in his homeland.
“I am following the events taking place in our country and want to express my opinion and position as a citizen.
The desire and will of the Georgian people is to follow the European path; this is our historical choice, the only correct choice, and we cannot deviate from this path. This country belongs to the people, and no one stands above the will of the people.
It hurts, my country hurts, my people hurt, it is painful to watch the videos being circulated, stop the violence and aggression. Today Georgia deserves Europe more than ever,” Kvaratskhelia wrote on his Instagram page.
Let us remind you that mass protests began in Tbilisi on November 28 after the statement made by the Prime Minister of Georgia about refusing to negotiate the country's entry into the EU.
