Defender of “Dynamo” Maxim Dyachuk summed up today’s match of his team against Kovaliv’s “Kolos” (1:1) in the 15th round of the Ukrainian championship.
Maxim Dyachuk— A tough game, losing points in the match against “Kolos”. Last season, we also dropped points here. In your opinion, why is this opponent so inconvenient for “Dynamo”?
— They have a good selection of players, an experienced team. I think we played well, we had many moments in the second half, it's just that today was not our day.
— In the previous matches, “Dynamo” played with a formation of three central defenders, today you decided to return to a more traditional one?
— We practice this in training, so I can’t say that it’s something new for us. The coaches explain to us how to play, tell us everything, so there are no problems in this regard.
— “Dynamo” scored a quick goal, it seemed that everything should go well for “Dynamo”. Did the conceded goal affect the emotions and mood of our team in any way?
— Not at all, on the contrary, during the break we identified our mistakes and problems, it gave us the incentive to move forward. But, I repeat, we just weren’t lucky today.
— The entire second half, “Dynamo” was on the opponent’s half of the field. How did the opponent manage to withstand?
— I don't even know. There were moments, but the ball didn't go into the net. I think we played very well in the second half.
— After each match in the Europa League, the team faces criticism. How hard was it to prepare for today’s match, especially morally?
— We all understand that we disappoint the fans with our results on the European stage. But we play for “Dynamo” (Kyiv), so we will strive to achieve victories in every match and continue to please them.
— As a defender, who was the hardest to play against today? Can you highlight someone?
— I’ll just say that it’s a good team with a good selection of players. I’ve played with some of them before.
— All the players come out with disappointed faces. What did the coach say in the locker room?
— Of course, we are disappointed because we did not achieve a positive result, we lost points. But that’s life and we must keep working. The coaches said we will analyze our mistakes and that there are no victories without defeats.
— Next week, two matches against “Oleksandriya”. What do you expect from them?
— A very good team, we all see where they are in the table and how they play. We will prepare, the coaches will tell us in theoretical sessions how to act better against them.
