After receiving the first red card of his career, the goalkeeper and captain of Munich’s Bayern Munich, Manuel Neuer, was punished with a two-match suspension by the Disciplinary Committee of the German Football Association for matches in the Cup, reports AFP.
Manuel Neuer (right)The 38-year-old Neuer was sent off for the first time in his career in his 866th game after bringing down Dutchman Jeremie Frimpong in the match against Bayer.
Neuer’s two-match suspension in the tournament can only take effect in the next season, as Bayern have currently been eliminated from the competition. The goalkeeper’s contract with the club ends on June 30, 2025, and whether it will be extended is still unknown.
