On St. Nicholas Day, the president of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Shevchenko met with the children of heroes, thus fulfilling one of their dreams.
The young fans had a unique opportunity to personally communicate with Andriy Shevchenko, ask their question to the football legend, take a memorable photo with him, and receive thematic gifts from the football association.
“Today, on St. Nicholas Day, we welcomed children to the House of Football, and we wanted to organize a real celebration for them - to meet, talk, and present them with thematic surprises. It was very nice to see their smiles. I hope they enjoyed it,” Andriy noted.
In addition, another dreamer was present at the meeting - Oleksandr Semyonov, a student at the DU Superheroes School, whose father serves in the National Guard of Ukraine. The boy is currently being treated at Okhmatdyt, but despite everything, he dreams of becoming a prominent footballer, as he is a player of the Uptown club. His biggest wish is to recover and return to training.
“I am glad that children are interested in football and at such a young age already know so much about Ukrainian football, its history, and our players. I believe that a footballer is already growing in Ukraine who will win the 'Golden Ball'. This is, without exaggeration, one of the important goals for our football community. Despite the war, we have many talented young people. Their passion and perseverance are the source of our inspiration and faith in the future,” Andriy Shevchenko added.
