Former midfielder of Kyiv’s Dynamo, Imre Lendél, has passed away at the age of 82, reports the official website of the Transcarpathian Football Association.
He was born on June 1, 1943, in Mukachevo. He began his football career at Uzhhorod’s Spartak, and later moved to the local Verkhovyna. Subsequently, together with Andriy Havash, Vasyl Turyanich, and József Szabo, he joined Dynamo. Unfortunately, Imre could not withstand the high competition and mostly played for the reserve team.
Later, Lendél moved to Lviv's SKA, with which he became the champion of the Ukrainian SSR in the class B teams. He finished his football career at Vinnytsia’s Lokomotiv and Mukachevo’s Karpaty.
After hanging up his boots, he worked as a coach at the Kolos Sports Society and the Mukachevo City Youth Sports School. He raised many footballers, the most famous of whom was the current coach of Inhulets, Vasyl Kobin.
