Illia Krupskyi— Kostyantyn, there was information in the press that «New England» agreed with «Vorskla» about the transfer of Krupskyi. Is that true?
— The clubs seem to have agreed. But tomorrow I still have a conversation with the general director of New England about the terms [of the contract] etc. We will definitely not rush. We will make a choice after December 15, there is still time. After the first round of the championship, we will sit down, consider all options and make the best decision for Illia. The choice must be serious; it’s not just about crossing the road. First of all, I care about the player. But there is a possibility that Krupskyi will not move to New England. I do not rule that out.
— Why?
— I have set aside «New England» because we are more interested in Europe. Boston is far away, and Illia is a young player, so I don’t want to let him go there alone. Who will look after him?
— Are there specific options in Europe?
— Certain moments are emerging in two places, but I cannot mention the names of the clubs just yet.
— Well, at least tell me if they are from top-5 leagues or not?
— I can’t send Illia to a conditional Austria or Belgium. Of course, we are talking about serious leagues. An interesting and responsible solitaire is unfolding.
— Are there options in Ukraine? There have been many rumors that «Dynamo» and «Shakhtar» are interested in Krupskyi.
— «Dynamo» and Shakhtar also figure in this. Each in their own way. They showed interest in the summer, then negotiations were put on hold, and now interest has renewed. Some Ukrainian clubs consider Krupskyi too expensive for them.
— There was earlier information that «Vorskla» is ready to let Krupskyi go for at least three million.
— That is the case. New England offered exactly three million.
— Are European clubs ready to pay such an amount?
— If they are discussing a transfer, then of course, they are ready. Who will be the smartest, the boldest and invests money in Krupskyi — in a year and a half will get three or four times more. I am not convincing anyone; I am just analyzing the situation. Clubs reach out to us on their own, just so you understand. Illia has earned this interest with his play.
— Which option does Illia himself lean towards?
— He is a smart guy, but young. Illia’s formulation is: «I want to move to the club where I can develop and progress well.» Therefore, we will choose the option that suits him best for career development.
