UEFA has appointed referees for the match of the 6th round of the main stage of the Europa League between the Spanish team «Real Sociedad» and Kyiv’s «Dynamo», which will take place next Thursday, December 12, in San Sebastián.
All referees are from Germany. The referee on the field is Harm Osmers. He will be assisted on the lines by Dominik Schaal and Stefan Lupp. The video assistant referee (VAR) system will also be in use, headed by Florian Exner, who is also from Germany.
As for the chief referee of the upcoming meeting, 39-year-old Osmers has only recently been officiating international matches, starting in 2020, and during all this time he has worked on only 36 such matches (combined at the club and national team levels in competitions of all age categories).
Osmers received his first appointment for a European competition match (UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers) just over four years ago—in September 2020.
This will be Osmers’ first time officiating a match involving a Ukrainian team (both at club and national team levels).
