On Sunday, during the match “Dynamo” — “Oleksandriya”, one of the biggest dreams of 10-year-old boy Nazar, the son of fallen defender and media worker Ivan Shulha, came true.
Nazar received a gift from St. Nicholas under his pillow — an invitation to the match “Dynamo” — “Oleksandriya” from his favorite team, which he attended with his mother, supporting the Kyiv team in club merchandise.
But the brightest impression for the boy was yet to come — after the game, our club invited him and his mother to the under-stand zone, where the young fan was gifted a game jersey of Roman Salenko.
— I dreamed so much about the “Dynamo” jersey. This is my third “Dynamo” match that I've seen from the stands, but I watch all the matches on TV. Dad didn’t love football as much as I do, but he grew to love it because of me, — shared Nazar, holding back tears.
Nazar's father — the fallen hero of the Russian-Ukrainian war Ivan Shulha. He died at the front last summer. He was a media worker, just like his wife. They worked together on various creative projects at Starlight Media. With the start of the full-scale war, the renowned sound engineer took up arms and went to defend his family and country.
The team of media colleagues together with FC “Dynamo” (Kyiv) became the St. Nicholas figures who brought Nazar’s dream to life after learning about his love for “Dynamo”.
— Now, during this horrific war, we must not only show that we play football thanks to our warriors, but also always be ready to support their families. That's why we are very happy to be part of this charity initiative, — said Andriy Shakhov, director of the media department and press attaché of “Dynamo”, about the initiative.
Then another dream of Nazar came true — a meeting with the players of “Dynamo”, particularly with his football idol — Oleksandr Karavayev, who, like others, left an autograph on the boy's ball.
— I am very happy for him. It just hurts so much that dreams come true without the presence of the dad, who doesn't see this. But Nazar and I decided that he still sees it, as he is the brightest little star, — thanked Nazar's mother, the wife of the fallen warrior Anastasia Shulha, for the holiday miracle.
