Today, December 15, the youngest Ukraine team, U-15 (players not older than 2010), continued their performance at the UEFA Development Tournament in Portugal. The competition is taking place at the Cidade do Futebol sports complex in Lisbon.
The team coached by Dmytro Mykhailenko started with a loss to Portugal (0:3), and today faced their peers from Italy.
The “blue-yellow” team started the match well, and in the 9th minute Bodak opened the scoring, turning at the entrance to the penalty area and shooting into the far corner. The Italians responded with a shot that hit the post. Later, Bodak and Osmykhin made inaccurate shots. In the 30th minute, “Squadra Azzurra” equalized the score - Krochi earned and converted a penalty kick. Before the break, the Italians were more active, while the Ukrainians managed to score for the second time, but did so from an offside position.
The Apenines did not convert several chances at the start of the second half, and in the 56th minute our guys scored - Donik entered the penalty area and crossed to Bodak, who completed his double. Later, the Italians equalized when Donner successfully finished a counterattack.
Subsequently, teams exchanged sharp attacks, and there were chances near both goals. In such a game, the Ukrainians managed to score - in a counterattack, Rotar delivered a brilliant through ball, and Savchenko outplayed the goalkeeper. However, just moments later the Italians equalized - the score of 3:3 was set by Donner. According to the tournament rules, teams played penalty shootouts, and luck smiled on our boys here - 4:3.
The final match of the tournament for the “blue-yellow” team will be held on December 18 against Turkey (kick-off at 13:00 Kyiv time).
