Dynamo striker Vladislav Vanat, who scored a goal against Rivne’s Veres in a home match, commented on the victory of the Kyiv team (1:0) and his first place in the ranking of the best scorers of the Ukrainian championship.
Vladislav Vanat (in the center; photo: O. Vasylieva)— Everyone understood that after today’s match we would have a vacation. But we needed to focus on this game to increase the gap from our competitors — and we did it successfully. As after any victory, the impressions are the most pleasant. I’m also glad that I managed to score. You could say that Veres played well, and overall, they are a good team.
— Did the score 1:0 remain until the final whistle, or did it make you nervous?
— Yes, the score was indeed a bit slippery. There were good moments to score for both us and Veres. But, in our opinion, in this component, we outperformed the opponent, so we deserved to win.
— Are you following the scoring races? Thanks to today’s goal, you moved to first place…
— Sometimes I come across news about it on the internet. But for me, the main thing is that the team wins.
— Was the way you executed the free kick when you scored a home setup?
— No, it was an improvisation from our players. It worked — thank God.
— How did you and Voloshyn decide who should finish the goal combination?
— In general, the pass was to Voloshyn, but I ran, took the shot, and scored.
— This was the final match of the year. Do you feel tired?
— Of course, we are tired — both from travels and from games. Now it will be time to rest.
— What did the coaches say to you in the locker room after the game?
— They congratulated us on the victory, on the beginning of our vacation, and said for us all to have a good rest. This year, the vacation will be somewhat shorter than before. But I believe that three weeks is very good. We will gather again on January 4, there will be a medical check, and on the 5th we will head to the training camp.
— What are your plans for the vacation? How do you plan to celebrate the New Year holidays?
— I plan to go to Lviv, then to Bukovel, and after that home. We don’t have any special traditions for celebrating. It will be nice just to gather all together.
