The youngest national team of Ukraine (players no older than 2010) completed the training camp, participating in the UEFA Development Tournament. After the return of the U-15 national team of Ukraine from the camp in Portugal, where our team took part in an international tournament, head coach of the “blue and yellow” Dmytro Mykhailenko summed up this stage of work.
“The camp went well. We are glad that we gained invaluable experience in the three matches we played in Portugal, where the opponents presented completely different challenges on the field than in domestic competitions. We saw ourselves against strong opponents. Progress in our team was evident after the first match against the hosts, when we were just getting acquainted with the players. In the matches against Italy and Turkey, our team showed a worthy level of football. With each match, the national team of Ukraine made progress.
We still have performers who need to wear the “blue and yellow” jersey. This was the first camp, so we could not physically cover everyone right away.
As for plans, they exist; however, there is no sense in talking about anything specific until it is confirmed. It is important that the team and I, as a coach, reiterate, gained invaluable experience in international work,” said Mykhailenko.
