The management of Valencia officially announced the dismissal of head coach Ruben Baraja.
“The club would like to publicly thank Ruben for the passion, dedication, and commitment he demonstrated from the first to the last day of his tenure. The dynamics of results this season required a decision that was very difficult but was made with the aim of changing the situation and achieving better results,” the club's statement said.
Interestingly, the dismissal occurred against the backdrop of mass protests by fans of the club against the management. Some ultras of the team are calling for a boycott of the next home match against Real.
In 17 matches, Valencia has only accumulated 12 points and is in 19th place in the Spanish championship.
