Diego Simeone was named La Liga's best coach in December

The manager of Madrid’s "Atletico", Diego Simeone, has been recognized as the best coach of the Spanish championship in December.

The "Colchoneros" won their last 12 matches in all tournaments, including seven consecutive wins in La Liga. In December, the "mattress makers" won all three league matches, defeating "Sevilla" (4:3), "Getafe" (1:0), and "Barcelona" (2:1).

In the voting, Simeone outpaced Diego Martinez ("Las Palmas") and Ernesto Valverde ("Athletic"). This is the first such award for the Atlético manager in the current campaign.
