The management of Madrid’s «Real» approached «Liverpool» with a request for the transfer of defender Trent Alexander-Arnold in January, but the response from the «Reds» was negative, reports Sky Sports.
The contract of the 26-year-old England national player with the Merseysiders expires at the end of the season, and starting today, «Real» can freely negotiate with him regarding a preliminary contract that will come into effect from the summer.
However, the royal team wants to strengthen itself in the January transfer window due to fluctuating results in the autumn. For its part, «Liverpool» aims to retain one of its key players, but even if a new contract cannot be agreed upon, the English club has no intention of losing Alexander-Arnold in the middle of the season.
