The forward of Alexandria, Alexander Filippov, shared his thoughts on the recent matches of his team against Kyiv Dynamo (0:0, 0:3) in the current Ukrainian championship.
"We can divide these two matches with 'Dynamo'. Regarding the first game, Ruslan Petrovich (Rotan, head coach of "Alexandria," - ed.) probably said it correctly that we lacked aggression and we acted a bit timidly.
Near Dynamo's goal, we lacked finishing, and we were afraid to take initiative. We had few shots, although we had good conditions for that. We lacked cold-bloodedness and confidence in taking more control of the game and putting ourselves in a shooting position. We simply lacked sharpness in the finishing stage.
As for the second match, we can say we lost due to some individual mistakes. After that, we couldn't recover and find our game. But still, we didn't rush and tried to create moments. But in a match against 'Dynamo', when you are losing 2:0 away, it's certainly tough. We allowed Dynamo to play their game. They are especially strong on counterattacks and using the flanks. And we gave them many opportunities for that," said Filippov.
