Frenkie de Jong has opened up about his time at Barcelona, sharing his thoughts on trophies and injury troubles. The Dutch midfielder's career at the Spanish club hasn't quite lived up to his expectations.

"I expected to have more trophies,"he said, reflecting on his achievements with the team so far.
But it's not just the lack of trophies that's been on De Jong's mind. He's also been dealing with ongoing ankle problems that have affected his game. The midfielder explained that he's had to adapt his approach to manage these issues.
"Now I have almost lost that feeling. However, the ankle has become something that I have to take into account. By this I mean that I will have to continue paying extra attention, in the form of care. For some players it is their knee, and I have it with my ankle."
De Jong's comments show how players often have to work around long-term physical challenges. While some footballers might struggle with knee problems, for De Jong, it's his ankle that needs extra care and attention.
Despite these setbacks, De Jong remains a key player for Barcelona in midfield. His openness about both his trophy expectations and injury concerns gives fans a glimpse into the realities of life as a top-level footballer.
