As it became known to Sport.ua, the head coach of the national team of Ukraine, Serhiy Rebrov, most supports the option of holding the home match of the Nations League playoff against Belgium on March 20 in the Spanish city of Murcia.
Initially, it was planned that this match would be held in one of the cities of Poland or Germany, but currently the favorite is Murcia.
According to the source, representatives of UAF are primarily studying the financial conditions of renting the local stadium "Nueva Condomina," which has a capacity of 31,179 spectators, and logistical issues.
In case of a positive outcome of negotiations with the Spaniards, the coaching staff of the Ukraine national team will also negotiate with UPL to possibly postpone the matches of the 20th round of the championship involving Shakhtar and Dynamo (the base date is March 20) for one or two days so that Serhiy Rebrov can involve as many national team members as possible for a short training preparation in Murcia.
Additionally, it should be noted that Murcia is well known to the players of the Ukraine youth national team, who successfully held qualifying matches for the 2025 European Championship here.
The second leg match Belgium - Ukraine will take place on March 23 in Brussels.
