The famous coach, now expert Oleg Fedorchuk shared his impressions of the first sparring matches of the Ukrainian grand clubs this year: Shakhtar, which drew (2:2) with the Croatian Dynamo from Zagreb, and Kyiv’s Dynamo, which lost to the German Magdeburg (1:3).

“The times have long passed when the miners and Kyiv residents successfully held friendly matches. I attribute this to the lack of class among our grand clubs. Class is when a player, in any condition, is ready to contribute to his team achieving the desired result through his actions.
Secondly, it seems that there are no players with leadership qualities in both teams who would take the game on themselves during a difficult moment and secure the victory.
And finally, there is practically no competition for a starting spot in Shakhtar and Dynamo. This significantly hinders even the leaders from always acting with maximum enthusiasm, because they know there is no equal replacement for them.
Of course, this also negatively affects the course of events on the field.
Conclusion? With this level of preparation, it will be very difficult for our representatives at the end of January in the last matches of the group stage of the European cups,” said Fedorchuk.
