Former chief scout of Tottenham and Manchester United Mick Brown shared his thoughts on the future of Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Zinchenko at London’s Arsenal.
“I expect that Zinchenko will leave Arsenal. When he joined, he was one of the few deserving players who helped stabilize the situation in this team, but he is not a top-class footballer.
Zinchenko will never become a regular player for Arsenal's starting lineup, as he has already fallen in the hierarchy. Mikel Arteta (manager of Arsenal, — ed.) demonstrated this by signing Timber and Calafiori.
Zinchenko is a player who feels comfortable with the ball and can transition to midfield, but there have always been concerns about his defensive actions at Arsenal. Therefore, if any club approaches Arsenal during the January transfer window, I think Zinchenko will be let go. He does not fit into the Gunners' plans for the future and seems to not fit the current style of play of this team,” Brown is quoted by Football Insider.
