The head coach of the Italian "Roma" Claudio Ranieri after yesterday’s match against the Dutch AZ (0:1) in the Europa League explained why he substituted his team’s main striker, Ukrainian Artem Dovbik, already after the first half.

“I took Dovbik off the game because he already received a yellow card, and the fourth referee told me that the main referee was now closely watching Artem. In this situation, I preferred to replace him.
By the way, Sule’s entry instead of Dovbik added more verticality to our game, which led to a number of sharp moments. We were controlling the game, but unfortunately, the opponent won,” said Ranieri at the post-match press conference.
Let’s remind that Dovbik received a yellow card already in the 19th minute of the match against AZ for breaking the nose of Dutch team defender Wouter Gus. Moreover, before that, the Ukrainian was noticed in other altercations with this player, where he also acted quite nervously and with clear rule violations.
