The former head coach of the Ukraine U-19 national team Dmytro Mykhailenko spoke about Hennadiy Synchuk, who transferred to «Montreal» from «Metalist».

«I think they watched Synchuk and bought him based on his performances in the youth national team rather than in the First League. And the key factor here is that he played all his national team matches either well or very well; there were no poor performances. He played well against strong teams, scored against England, Italy.

Despite the fact that his anthropometry does not quite resemble the usual profiles of wingers, he is still explosive—his bursts, those first steps. He did not lose them due to his height.

In this aspect, he can be compared to Yarmolenko—he is also almost 190 cm tall, but that does not prevent him from being mobile and technical. The same goes for Hennadiy. He understands how to adjust to the ball, how to pivot his body, has a good left foot, and his technique is at a high level.

Synchuk is very balanced. I can say that there is no quality in which he is lacking. Some qualities stand out; some are just good, but it’s hard to notice obvious weaknesses. The main thing is that he understands the game very well, knows how to open up, and maintain the pace.

All attacking players at that age have problems; there's no way around it. But Synchuk learns quickly, understands the demands, and then fulfills them on the field. He doesn’t have those moments where he drops out of the game for 15-20 minutes. No, he is constantly focused, trying to ensure that continuity you mentioned.

Of course, it’s difficult to predict how this will translate to the senior level, especially in Italy. There, the intensity is completely different, and he will need to adapt. This applies not only to young players but to all Ukrainian footballers who enter new conditions in terms of physical demands,» said Mykhailenko.
