Former Celta coach Rafael Benitez has turned down a job in Brazil, reports Daily Mail.

According to the source, the 64-year-old tactician declined the offer from Botafogo, who are looking for a new coach after Arthur Jorge took charge of Saudi Al-Rayan. Benitez did not want to take on this role after discussions with his family — it would have been only his second job outside of Europe.
In March 2024, Celta sacked Benitez after nine months of collaboration and the team's 17th position in the Spanish league table.
