There are still many games ahead to enjoy the atmosphere of English stadiums. I had one training session with the team, and the next day there was already a match. Honestly, I missed playing. The atmosphere at the stadium was unforgettable.
LASK expressed interest; I spoke with the team’s coach and the club management. I was pleased that the coach believes in me and considers that I can help them stay in the Championship. There were offers from Belgium, the USA, and Spain, but the decisive factor was the conversation with the coach, his vision of football, and the positive energy with which he set out to save the club. On the other hand, this is a real opportunity to adapt to English football and showcase my best qualities.
During the last year, there were several interesting offers and opportunities to continue my career at a higher level than the Austrian Bundesliga, but LASK was not satisfied with the proposals. It’s hard for me to say why LASK had such a position, but at the last training camp, I did not feel that my best qualities were being utilized in the team. After all, I had to play in different positions, but not as a central defender. In the last game, for example, I played as a right midfielder. On the other hand, it’s very difficult to compete in the national team of Ukraine when you play in Austria—after all, others play in England or in the Champions League. So, we need to take a step forward.
At LASK, I felt the support of my teammates; the last conversation with the club president at the stadium before my departure was very pleasant. The only thing that disappoints me is that I couldn’t thank the fans at the stadium, as the fans create a fantastic atmosphere during the games,» said Talovyerov.
