It became known why the transfer of the Ukrainian defender of London “Arsenal,” Alexander Zinchenko, to Dortmund’s “Borussia” did not take place during the winter transfer window.
Alexander ZinchenkoAccording to The Athletic, the German club wanted to loan the 28-year-old player and sent an official request to “Arsenal,” but received a refusal because the “Gunners” were only willing to consider offers for a full transfer of Zinchenko.
It is worth noting that besides “Borussia,” Ukrainian interest also came from Madrid’s “Atletico,” but in this case, the transfer did not happen because the clubs could not agree on the release amount: the English wanted to receive 20 million euros for Zinchenko, while the Spaniards were ready to pay 10 million euros, plus 5 million euros in bonuses.
