Dutch AZ announced the signing of an agreement with Ukrainian midfielder Bohdan Budko.
Bohdan Budko. Photo: az.nl“Nineteen-year-old Bohdan Budko joined the Alkmaar youth academy in 2023 after he and his family were forced to leave their country and the Donetsk club “Shakhtar” due to the war.
Since then, Budko has achieved impressive success in the Netherlands, developing as a footballer. This season he plays for the U-19 team, where he is a regular midfielder under coach Michael van Zeetveld.
With Budko in the squad, the team not only managed to win the winter championship but also reached the UEFA Youth League playoffs. For his success on the pitch, the Ukrainian received his first professional contract,” the statement on the official AZ website says.
