The head coach of Marseille, Roberto De Zerbi, commented on the club’s decision to abandon the idea of transferring Paul Pogba.

“No one is going to disrupt the balance in the dressing room while I am the coach. But the problem was not in this. Pogba is indeed a great player, but we must understand where we could use him when he is available to play, in what role and in what position. The more quality players we have, the happier I am.
This was a general assessment, and perhaps it will change in the future, but at the moment the decision not to sign Pogba in January was made for many reasons,” cited De Zerbi’s words by Goal.
