Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos thanked Brahim Diaz for his goal in the first match of the 1/16 finals of the Champions League against Manchester City (3:2). In the 84th minute, Diaz came on as a substitute and moments later equalized the score in the match.

Additionally, Ceballos fouled Phil Foden in his own penalty area, leading to a penalty kick awarded against Thibaut Courtois. After this episode, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti substituted Ceballos for Luka Modric.
