From February 9 to 18, the U-17 youth team of Ukraine is holding a training camp in Croatia as part of preparations for the second round of Euro-2025 qualifiers. The "blue-yellow" team also planned two friendly matches. The delegation is headed by the curator of the youth and junior teams Unai Melgosa, with Oleksandr Sytnyk as the head coach.
Today, on February 13, our youth faced the Turkish team. In the first half hour of the match, the Ukrainians had the advantage, with notable shots from Shyskevych and Korzh. However, in the 34th minute, Onyshchuk received a straight red card, after which the Turks missed several chances.
In the second half, Oleksandr Sytnyk completely changed the lineup of the Ukrainian team, although the "blue-yellow" had to play with ten men. Nevertheless, our boys managed to score — in the 64th minute, Kucheryavyy converted a penalty that he earned himself. After that, the Ukrainians not only focused on defense but also conducted several decent attacks, particularly notable were the dangerous shots from Hamzyk. Unfortunately, in the added time, the Turks managed to equalize — 1:1.
The next friendly match for the Ukrainian youth team will be on February 16 against Greece (start time — 16:00 Kyiv time).
