— About Volodymyr Matkivskyi, who is really quite a closed person. There are almost no photographs of him, and no one talks about interviews anymore. I understand, it is his right, his style of approach. When did you meet him?
— I met him for the first time in December 2023.
— As far as I understand, back then you could roughly understand that "Dnipro-1" through the problems of Ihor Kolomoyskyi, and the overall lack of a system, is indeed heading towards some sort of not exactly completion, or at least it's hard to find development. If you met back then, you probably already talked about the development of the project?
— Now we are moving to a topic I wouldn’t want to delve into. That meeting had a specific purpose. By that time, we were very strictly optimizing our budget at "Dnipro-1." The subject of our meeting was Hlib Korniienko because he was then a scout for "Dnipro-1." We discussed that "Karpaty" was looking for a chief scout. We released him from "Dnipro-1," and he moved to work at "Karpaty."
And why was I present? Because I was trying… To arrange — that is an incorrect word, because Hlib doesn’t need arranging. In my opinion, if necessary, he will be able to quickly find a quality job in the market because he is a specialist of very high qualifications. But I was trying to help him find a place — this applied to both footballers and managers whom I brought to "Dnipro-1." I felt a certain responsibility to ensure they weren't left on the street without work.
— What is the main difference between the owners of "Dnipro" and "Dnipro-1" you had to work with?
— This is a topic I wouldn’t want to touch on. Someday the time will come, but definitely not now.
— Are you personally confident that in these three years you talked about, for which you have a plan, you will continue to work at "Karpaty"?
— I think it depends on how well I work — otherwise, it can't be.
