The midfielder of the Greek PAOK, Tyson, known in Ukraine for his performances for Kharkiv’s «Metalist» and Donetsk’s «Shakhtar», has made it clear that he intends to end his professional career.
TysonThe events that occurred during yesterday’s playoff match of the Europa League for entry into the round of 16 against the Romanian «Steaua» (1:2) pushed the 37-year-old Brazilian to take this step.
In the 33rd minute of the match, Tyson received a yellow card. In the added time of the first half, the midfielder was cautioned again — for unsporting behavior — and automatically received a red card. Moreover, at that moment, PAOK was leading, 1:0. However, after being reduced to ten men, Tyson’s team conceded two goals and lost the match.
After the match, Tyson apologized to PAOK fans and indicated that he plans to hang up his boots.
«I apologize to PAOK fans, I am very sad about what happened today! I don’t have the strength to continue, thank you for everything!», he wrote on his Instagram page.
