Journalist Serhiy Tyshenko shared his thoughts on how Ukrainian striker Nazarii Rusyn began his appearances for the Croatian “Hajduk.” The 26-year-old player has so far played three matches for the Split team, in the first of which he recorded an assist.
Serhiy Tyshenko“I was heavily criticized after Nazarii Rusyn transferred to ‘Hajduk.’ I gave a very disappointing forecast. When Rusyn made a decisive pass in the first game against ‘Lokomotiva’ (a flank pass into the fray that experienced Maro Livaja scored), it immediately appeared in most media.
However, the continuation did not follow. In the two matches, Rusyn showed nothing. ‘Hajduk’ won only once in three games in the second part of the season. Moreover, he did not play against ‘Rijeka,’ ‘Dinamo,’ or ‘Osijek.’
‘Hajduk’ is a very difficult team. You need to have big, steel balls to play. Rusyn never had them. When a foreign player does not meet expectations, does not score, the attitude towards him changes significantly for the worse.
If such results and quality of play continue, then Gennaro Gattuso (head coach of ‘Hajduk,’ — ed.) may lose his job. In Split, they have never been lenient with coaches. I do not believe that Rusyn will score more than two goals for ‘Hajduk.’ It is quite possible that Rusyn will be blamed for the failures, as was the case with ‘Dinamo’ (Zagreb) with Bodhi Mykhailychenko. I believe that in the summer he will play for ‘Metalist-1925’ or LNZ,” Tyshenko wrote on his Telegram channel.
Recall that Rusyn transferred to ‘Hajduk’ last January from English ‘Sunderland’ on loan until the end of the current season.
