Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva on the chances in the confrontation with Real in the Champions League playoff after the home defeat 2-3.
Bernardo Silva (photo: uefa.com)— The emotions are mixed. We’ve eliminated Real from the Champions League twice, but they’ve eliminated us twice as well. We will meet for the fifth time. When you lose twice, there’s nothing good about it, especially considering how some of those defeats were.
But you can never stop believing. Always believe that whatever happened in the first 20-30 minutes of the game is not the end. Be confident that the match is not over yet, and stick to your plan. We know that the opponent is fast, strong in counterattacks, and creates incredible pressure on visitors at this stadium. But we have to handle it.
If it comes to penalties, I will definitely volunteer to take one. Last season I shot right down the center — the goalkeeper waited, and it didn’t go well. But it happened as it happened, and I don’t regret it, — said Silva.
