They really deserved it, as it was clear from the first minutes when the teams stepped onto the field that “Veres” was charged for a fight, for attacking play. We came out a bit academic, thinking everything would be fine, we would win, but that never works in football.
You need to come out charged for a fight, for the game, especially in spring football, with frost, so I think that played a role, but more so — the mistakes we made. The first goal — a mistake, the second goal — a mistake. What we knew, analyzed, and said should never happen — our fullback should not pass to the center, because “Veres” presses very well with a six, they analyze, and they are just waiting to set this trap — interception and counterattack. That’s what they did: interception, counterattack — goal. The third goal — a set piece. “Veres” was a bit faster and finished that ball, so 3:0. Although we had chances, we didn’t capitalize on them.
I think the guys understand everything, we need to analyze, we will watch this game. As they say, when the team loses — the coach loses first of all, and when the team wins, the team wins. So I will take that upon myself today. Somewhere my shortcomings, my mistakes, that’s why we lost,” Vernydub said on UPL.TV.
